INTERNATIONAL DIGITAL
NETWORK PLATFORM CONSTRUCTLAB
Constructlab is a transdisciplinary network that engages with communities through architecture and design. The designers, builders, sociologists, urban planners, graphic designers, curators and educators that shape the network have the shared vision of a collaborative way of working that combines the creative with the practical, the thinking with the doing.
In collaboration with Alexander Römer, Peter Zuiderwijk (Collective Works) and Buurmen, Studio Muis designed a digital networking platform for Constructlab. The platform's goal was to make the network's diversity of experiences and knowledge tangible. The content was shaped by a digital symposium, On the Network, which included four workshops covering Constructlab’s main focuses. These themes—communal learning, climate action, collaborative finance, and community engagement—are central to the platform’s design. For the network’s members and the public, the creation of the website itself became a collaborative project.
Funded by Fonds Soziokultur, the platform brought together key European associations, enabling them to collaborate across distances. This transnational teamwork underscores the power of collective effort. The platform is more than just a portfolio; it visualizes the scale, expertise, and diversity of the network, with each member having their own page. Connections between actors and projects are mapped, and common methods and typologies are explored. The website offers a transparent view of Constructlab’s practices, inviting users to dive deeper into the vibrant, interconnected network.
